“The Fun Ship”

The Duke Of Lancaster, AKA, “The Fun Ship” was a passenger ship that operated from 1956 to 1979.  It now lies dormant in a dock on the River Dee in North Wales.

On arriving it was clear that there was no easy way to climb aboard for a glimpse inside, not least because of the 24hr security presence and CCTV.  Few people have been inside and by all accounts the inside is well preserved; transporting you back to how it was in the 1970’s.

Various European artists have been commissioned to spray paint artwork on both sides of the ship with plans to make it one of the largest open air art galleries in the UK.
